The next meeting of the Cordage Institute Technical Committee will be held on October 6-7, 2026 at the dual-branded Element Philadelphia Downtown and W Philadelphia, located near Rittenhouse Square and City Hall. In addition, the Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, October 6.

A group dinner will be planned for the evening of Tuesday, October 6. The per-person dinner cost, which covers the meal, taxes, and service charges/gratuities, is expected to be approximately $90 to $95. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the cost. Final details will be shared closer to the meeting date. Please note that pre-payment will be required to participate.

Following dinner, attendees are invited to join an optional historical sightseeing tour of Philadelphia aboard a double-decker bus. As the United States marks its 250^th anniversary, this is a unique opportunity to experience the nation’s first capital. The guided tour will feature views of notable landmarks, including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Fairmount Park, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with stops for photo opportunities.

The tour will begin at 7:30 p.m. and conclude at approximately 9:00 p.m. at McGillin’s Olde Ale House, Philadelphia’s oldest continuously operating tavern, where attendees may continue networking. The cost of the tour is $62 per person, and advance payment will be required. Food and beverages at McGillin’s will be at each attendee’s own expense.

Hotel Accommodations

Our discounted group rate is $229 plus tax per night at the Element Philadelphia Downtown. This includes complimentary internet in guestrooms, a full breakfast each morning, and a nightly reception with complimentary wine, beer, and snacks. Ground Transportation and Parking

The cost for taxi service between the Philadelphia International Airport and the hotel is approximately $32 each way. In addition, Uber and Lyft are available for local transportation.

Overnight valet parking at the hotel is $60 plus tax for guests and $73.50 plus tax for non-guests. Other parking garages are within walking distance of the hotel.
