Membership

MEMBERSHIP IN THE CORDAGE INSTITUTE

There are six categories of membership within the Cordage Institute. Select from the list below the membership category for which you wish to apply. Verification of membership criteria will be confirmed by the required inclusion of a reference from one existing member of the Institute. Once the application is received, the review process usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Please note that membership dues, contributions, or gifts to the Cordage Institute are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. However, they may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses.

New members receive a 50% discount on membership dues during the first year of membership.

Regular Membership Application
This category is open to any individual, partnership, corporation, subsidiary, division, or association engaged in the manufacturing of Industry Products* in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
Associate Membership Application
This category is open to any manufacturer, supplier, distributor, wholesaler, broker, agent, or reseller of fiber, yarn, resin, equipment, or elements used in the production of finished Industry Products.*
 
International Manufacturer Membership Application
This category is open to any manufacturer of Industry Products* located outside Canada, Mexico or the United States shall be eligible as an International Manufacturer Member.
Affiliate Membership Application
This category is open to any company serving as a commercial distributor, agent, broker, wholesaler, fabricator, or testing provider of finished Industry Products.*  
Technical Membership Application
This category is open to any consultant to the Industry or test laboratory involved in Industry activities and projects, who is not employed by a member company, shall be eligible to be a Technical and Testing Member. Members in this category shall not have commercial gain from the sale of Industry Products. A consultant or test laboratory that also sells Industry Products* shall be eligible to be an Affiliate Member.
Government / Municipality Membership Application
This category is open to any government organization or municipality that is engaged in Industry activities shall be eligible to be a Government/Municipality Member.

Note: *Industry Products are defined as: rope, cable, cordage, twine and related products made from natural fibers, manufactured fibers including glass, and other fibers. Industry Products include binder and baler twine; nets of all kinds; slings; any fiber structure or composite structure used as a strength member and wire rope centers. The term Industry Product does not include fiber, yarn, resins or equipment used to produce aforementioned products.
